Sara Emmerson on the role of the service producer on your creative team and being a relational leader
A service producer may not be one of the first roles you think of when you think of a worship team or a production team, but it can be a vital role that takes weight off of you as the worship pastor and help shepherd the people on your team and to eliminate distractions within a service. Sara Emmerson is currently the Creative Pastor at Soul City Church in Chicago, but her roots in ministry can be traced back to her time as a service producer at Willow Creek Community Church. Her experience as a producer plus her skills as a relational leader are invaluable to anyone leading a worship ministry.

Sara’s dad is Stan Endicott, founder of the Sling Shot Group. If you’re a pastor looking for your next church to serve or a church that has a position to fill, Sling Shot is one of the best at what they do.
On the Practical Worship YouTube channel, there’s a video with Ryan Howell where we talk about ministry culture. As the Director of Production of Watermark Community Church in Dallas, Texas, he is very intentionally about defining the culture. Ryan shares what their values are and how to create your own for your ministry.
The product of the month is Coresound Pads. They have dozens of pads in a variety of sounds that will easily make your band (or just you and your acoustic) sound more full. Their iOS app is what I think sets them apart and makes setting everything up a breeze. Here’s a link to their app where you can demo all the packs in the key of D.
You can buy bundles from their website and save 20 percent each time when you use the promo code “PRACTICAL.”
