A slight change of plans

This Monday (August 10) was supposed to be my first day of chemo treatments. However, some tests they ran this week has suggested one more procedure, so the chemo treatments have been pushed back.

I had a bone scan done on Thursday to make sure the cancer hasn’t metastasized to my pelvic bone, and that came back negative. However, I also had an ultrasound done the same day (for a similar reason) and it showed a suspicious result, so my doctors are recommending an orchiectomy. (I’ll let you Google that. It’s only weird if you make it weird. ;) So that procedure is scheduled for Tuesday, which pushes the treatment plan back a week.

This outcome isn’t a surprise to me—it’s something we’ve always suspected—so I’m surprisingly doing well with everything.
