A lot has happened in this first week
It’s Sunday evening, and I’m just now thinking through all that’s happened over the last few days. I finished my fifth day of chemo treatments on Friday. I had a bit more motivation on Friday than I had the previous days. I even shot some video footage that I hope to turn into a short vlog video in the near future.
Day four: my first “yellow” day
I’m a bit of a nerd when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I like details. I like recording and analyzing data and then using that information to make future predictions and plans.
Day three: the downhill stretch
Day 3 of 5 treatments in a row is done and in the nooks. On the downhill stretch… at least for this week. Right now my only side effect is feeling tired. Not necessarily exhausted, but just tired. However, at least for the moment I don’t feel sick, I don’t feel nauseous, food still tastes good, etc.
This is it… day one
It all comes down to this. All the tests. All the procedures. All the scans and the blood work. It all comes down to me sitting in this room for the next seven hours while this machine puts various medicines and fluids into my body.
Choosing the right perspective
When you’re going through something like this and you’re reading in your Bible, the desire is to read all the passages about how God strengthens us and gives us peace in times of trouble. But I’ve been sticking to my current plan of reading the book of Luke all the way through, and this morning I was in Luke 6 and the story of the man with a withered hand.
